New Year’s in Paris! What could be more romantic! Carson and I decided we wanted to take a short trip after Nutcracker finished but we didn’t have anywhere in particular in mind. Using Google Flights we realized that we could get roundtrip tickets to Paris for $400- that was cheaper than most places in the US that we had been considering! So Paris it was! We had a 7hour layover in Toronto so we took advantage of that and took the “layover” train right into town for a quick look around. I’d been on tour in Toronto the year before so I was able to show Carson some of the sights- including the theater where I performed and where Mikhail Baryshnikov famously defected.
We only stayed four days in Paris but it was *almost* enough to do everything we’d planned at a very leisurely pace. That being said- I could go back and back to that city- and hopefully will be able to this season being only three hours away! It is as beautiful as I hoped it would be. I also enjoyed getting to practice my French helping Carson buy his funny souvenirs- chess pieces and fountain pens!
